12 Days Egyptian Pharaohs tour itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Upon arrival in Cairo airport, you will be met and greeted by our team and transferred to the hotel in our air-conditioned vehicle. After the check-in, you will have a brief meeting to review your holiday program. Overnight at Sheraton Hotel & Casino or similar in Cairo

Day 2: Pyramids & Sakkara tours

After breakfast, drive to the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza: Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus, the famous Sphinx and Valley Temple facing the great statue. You may proceed to visit the Solar Boat just in front of Cheops Pyramid (extra entry cost). You will have your lunch in one of the local restaurants. After lunch, proceed to Sakkara area to visit Sakkara Complex and the 1st pyramid ever built called Djoser Pyramid. Later, proceed to Memphis which is the Old Kingdom’s capital and famous Necropolis. Overnight at Sheraton Hotel & Casino or similar in Cairo.

Day 3: Luxor Nile Cruise Tours

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you will be met by our team and transferred to board the Nile Cruise in Luxor. Proceed to visit the Karnak Temple, which is the world’s largest ancient religious site built during the reigns of various Pharaohs, proceed to Luxor temple built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for ritual and festivals and dedicated to the god Amon (optional evening tour is the Sound and Light show. Dinner and Overnight on board the Movenpick Royal Lily Nile Cruise in Luxor.

Day 4: Luxor Nile Cruise tours

After breakfast, proceed to cross the West Bank of the Nile to the sites of Ancient Thebes, overall one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. You will visit the 2 colossal statues of Amenhotep III (Colossi of Memnon), the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri. Proceed to the Valley of the Kings to see a selection of the beautifully decorated rock-cut tombs. The 3 tombs are preserved by the Egyptian Government from the large flow of visitors and are therefore rotated throughout the year. Proceed sailing to Edfu via Esna Lock. Dinner and Overnight.

Day 5: Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples

After breakfast, you will sail to see Kom Ombo Temple which is divided into 2 since it is dedicated to 2 gods, Sobek, the Crocodile god of fertility and the falcon-headed Horus, god of the sky. After lunch on board the cruise, you will sail down the Nile to visit the huge Ptolemaic Temple of Horus at Edfu, which is the most best preserved of the Egyptian Temples and consists of many columns, halls, chambers and chapels. Two statues of Horus flank the twin towered entrance gate. Dinner and overnight on board the Nile cruise in Aswan.

Day 6: Aswan Nile Cruise Tours

After breakfast, you will proceed to visit the Aswan High Dam which was built in the 1960’s to provide electricity and irrigation. Nubia, the area that was flooded, experienced the biggest and most thorough archaeological excavations that Egypt has ever known. Proceed to the ‘Unfinished Obelisk’ lying in the granite quarries. These quarries provided ancient Egypt with building materials. You will board a boat and cross to Angilika Island to see Philae Temple which is one of the Nubian Temples rescued before the High Dam was built. Dinner and overnight on board the cruise in Aswan

Day 7: Abu Simbel / Lake Nasser Cruise

After breakfast, disembark from the cruise and drive for about 3.5 hours to Abu Simbel. On arrival at Abu Simbel, you transfer to board your 5-star Lake Nasser cruise for lunch and visit to the twin Temples of Abu Simbel. Dinner and Overnight on board the Lake Nasser Cruise.

Day 8: Lake Nasser Cruise Tours

After breakfast, continue sailing to visit Kasr Ibrim Fortress from the sun deck as you sail to Amada to visit the Temple of Amada, Ed Deir and the Tomb of Pennut. Late afternoon, continue sailing to Wadi El Seboua. Dinner and Overnight on board Movenpick Prince Abbas Lake Nasser Cruise

Day 9: Lake Nasser Cruise Tours

After Breakfast, you will visit Wadi El Seboua followed by a camel ride or walk to El Dakka and Mehraka. Later, sail to Aswan. Dinner and Overnight on board Movenpick Prince Abbas Lake Nasser Cruise

Day 10: Cairo

After breakfast, disembark from the Cruise and visit Kalabsha Temple which was dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis, proceed to Beit el Wali to visit the beautiful Kiosk of Kertassi to see the Nubian style Temple dedicated to the goddess Hathor. Transfer to Aswan Airport for your domestic flight back to Cairo. Overnight at Sheraton Hotel & Casino or similar in Cairo

Day 11: Cairo Tours

After breakfast, you will visit the world-renowned Egyptian Museum in Cairo built in neo-classical style and designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon. It has over 120,000 artifacts from the pre-dynastic era, through the Pharaonic era to the Greco-Roman period. Proceed to visit the Christian heritage in Coptic Cairo home to the early religious monuments of the city such as the Hanging Church, named so because of its location on top of the south gate of the Fortress of Babylon. It became the center of the Christian Church of Egypt. Later, proceed to visit the cairo’s oldest bazaar called Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Overnight at Sheraton Hotel & Casino or similar in Cairo

Day 12: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight back home.
