15 Days Epic Egypt and Dahabiya tour itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Upon arrival in Cairo airport, you will be met and greeted by our team and transferred to the hotel in our air-conditioned vehicle. After the check-in, you will have a brief meeting to review your holiday program. Overnight at Le Méridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa or similar in Cairo

Day 2: Pyramids & Sakkara tours

After breakfast, drive to the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza: Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus, the famous Sphinx and Valley Temple facing the great statue. You may proceed to visit the Solar Boat just in front of Cheops Pyramid (extra entry cost). You will have your lunch in one of the local restaurants. After lunch, proceed to Sakkara area to visit Sakkara Complex and the 1st pyramid ever built called Djoser Pyramid. Overnight at Le Méridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa or similar in Cairo

Day 3: Cairo tours

After breakfast, it is your chance to discover Cairo (The city of a thousand minarets). You will visit Al Darb Al Ahmar, Salah El Din Citadel, the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrasa and the Mosque of Ahmed Ibn Tulun which is considered to be the 3rd largest mosque in Egypt. Day 4: Fayoum / El Minya

After breakfast, drive for some 60 kms to arrive at Fayoum to visit Lake Qaroun, the National park of Wadi Rayan to see the Water Falls, Gabal Al Modawara and the Wales Cemetery. Your lunch will be packed lunch and you will enjoy it here. Late afternoon, proceed to El Minya and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Grand Aton El Minya hotel or similar

Day 5: El Minya tours

After breakfast, you will visit the necropolis of Tuna El Gabal which has many crypts of baboons and Ibis that represent the god Thoth, the tomb of Isadora, the tomb of the priest Pet-osiers, the old water wheel and the boundary stele of the city of the Aton. We shall proceed to Al Ashmunien, the ancient city of Hermopolis to see the open museum with the 2 huge baboon statues and the ruins of the basilica church with its Rose granite columns. Later, proceed to the site of Beni Hasan which is on the East bank of the Nile to see the unique rock-cut tombs with its scenes depicting local and regional life during the Middle Kingdom. Overnight at Grand Aton El Minya hotel or similar

Day 6: Amarna / Assuit / Abydous

After breakfast, depart for the city of Tell Al Amarna which is the capital of Akhnaton to see the city, the northern and the southern tombs, the ruins of the palace and temples and the royal tomb. Proceed to Assuit city to visit Al Muharraq Monastery which is 48 kmss north of Assiut. The Holy Family stayed there for 6 months and 10 days, the longest period spent at any single site. Later, proceed to Meir Village which was the cemetery for Cusae. Late afternoon drive to Abydos. Overnight at Abydous.

Day 7: Abydos / Dandara / Luxor

After breakfast, you will visit the first building in the history called Fortress Shonet El Zebeeb, the temple of Seti the 1st which is regarded as the most beautiful temple in Egypt. It was built by Seti I and finished by his son Ramesses II after his father’s death. You will have your lunch in one of the local restaurants. Later, drive to the complex of Dandara temple to see Hatour Temple. Late afternoon, drive to Luxor. Overnight at Sonesta St. George Hotel or similar in Luxor.

Day 8: Luxor West Bank tours

After breakfast, you will be transferred to board the Dahabiya cruise from Luxor West Bank for a short siesta and lunch on board. Proceed to the East Bank to visit the Temples of Luxor and Karnak. Dinner and Overnight on board the Nebyt Dahabiya Nile Cruise in Luxor.

Day 9: Luxor West Bank tours

After breakfast, you will visit Luxor West Bank with your lunch on board as you sail to El Batekh Island. Dinner and Overnight on board the Nebyt Dahabiya Nile Cruise at El Batekh Island.

Day 10: Esna / El Kab Village

After breakfast, you will sail and cross Esna lock to visit Esna Temple. Then, proceed to El Kab Village you’re your lunch and afternoon tea on board as you enjoy the beautiful sunset views. Dinner and Overnight on board the Nebyt Dahabiya Nile Cruise near El Kab Village.

Day 11: El Kab Temple / Edfu

After breakfast, you will visit El Kab Temple then sail to Edfu with your lunch on board the cruise. You will visit Edfu Temple. Dinner and Overnight on board the Nebyt Dahabiya Nile Cruise at El Fawaza Island.

Day 12: Gebel El-Silsila

After breakfast, you will continue sailing to Gebel El-Silsila to visit Gebel El-Silsila with your lunch on board. Dinner and Overnight on board the Nebyt Dahabiya Nile Cruise at Beshir Island.

Day 13: Kom Ombo / Herdiab Island

After breakfast, you will continue sailing to Kom Ombo to visit Kom Ombo Temple then proceed to Herdiab Island where you will enjoy your lunch and afternoon relaxation on the beach and swimming. Dinner and Overnight on board the Nebyt Dahabiya Nile Cruise near Aswan Bridge.

Day 14: Aswan Sightseeing tours

After breakfast, you will sail to Aswan for more tours with your lunch onboard the cruise. Dinner and Overnight on board the Nebyt Dahabiya Nile Cruise at Aswan West Bank

Day 15: Departure

After breakfast, you will disembark from the cruise and transfer to Aswan Airport for your domestic flight to Cairo to connect on your international flight or an extra night in Cairo (at extra cost)
