Safari Highlight: Tsavo East National Park / Amboseli National Park / Lake Nakuru National Park / Masai Mara Game Reserve / Nairobi

6 Days African Wildlife safari tour itinerary

Day 1: Tsavo East national park

Early morning drive to the southern gate of Tsavo East Park for a morning game drive in the park with an immense horizon, a wild rugged plain, and the opportunity to find all kinds of wildlife.

Elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, zebra, gazelle, and so much more inhabit this largest park in Kenya. We shall proceed to the lodge for lunch and a short siesta. After siesta, we hall drive for another afternoon game drive as the cool of the evening begins to draw the animals from their protected shelters.  Dinner and overnight at Voi Wildlife Lodge or similar

Day 2: Amboseli National park

We shall begin the day with an early morning game drive before sunset with a visit to the park’s better-known watering holes, such as Aruba Dam, where you’ll witness the animals. After breakfast, we shall drive to Amboseli national Park for lunch and a short siesta. Afternoon game drive will follow to view the great herds of elephants. You may choose to have an optional visit to the local Maasai tribe to learn up close about their culture and lifestyle.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru National park

We shall wake early enough to view Kilimanjaro as this is the best time to view its snow-capped peak when the cloud covering gives way to present the mountain in all its beauty. After breakfast, we shall leave the park and drive to lake Nakuru national park through the Great Rift Valley where we shall make stops for photographs of the valley escarpment. Along the Rift Valley escarpment, there are two lakes, i.e  Lake Naivasha and Lake Elmenteita which are two attractions known for their extensive birdlife. We will stop for lunch at Lake Naivasha.

After lunch, proceed to the Lake Nakuru national Park for an afternoon game drive in the park as we visit the lake with its pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, bright flamingos, herons, ostriches and eagles.

There’s plenty of big game here, but also, uniquely, the park is home to a large population of black and white rhino at its protected sanctuary. We’ll be watching for these immense beasts but also zebra, hippo, baboon, and monkey. Dinner and Overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge or similar.

Day 4: Masai Mara Game reserve

An early morning game drive will enable you see more animals like waterbuck, hyena, cheetah, and buffalo. After breakfast, drive to the famous reserve in the world called Masai Mara game reserve. Arrive in time for lunch, we shall drive to the lodge with game drive enroute in the vast rolling savannahs of the reserve

The park boasts one of the highest densities of wildlife anywhere. And besides Africa’s Big Five, you’ll find many other wildlife species on these rolling hills, over 90 types of mammals. After lunch and a short siesta, enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of all the big five animals which are plenty here.

Day 5: Masai Mara game reserve

Today you shall have full day game drives in the reserve which is home to huge numbers of wildlife. Our day will be filled with unlimited game drives with all meals in the reserve. You will have options of other activities like a visit to the local Maasai people. You can see how they live, their customs, ceremonies and buy some souvenirs from them. You may also choose to do a truly unforgettable experience of early morning balloon safari over the reserve. There is nothing like watching the dawn break over the reserve, lighting up the acacia trees and seeing wildlife stirring into the new day.

Day 6: Nairobi – Mombasa

Early morning gamed drive in the reserve will be your last chance to see any remaining animals. After breakfast, you will drive to Nairobi for your flight to Mombasa. You may also choose to take the flight directly from Masai Mara to Malindi
